FREE Bike Giveaway & Bike Auction

This week is going to be a great time to get out and enjoy the weather, and the FUN! Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest kicks off on Thursday and we are proud to help sponsor this event. During the kick off of this great event, we will be giving away one bike to a very lucky person who gets to choose from two models! This Saturday is the BIG Bike Auction, too. So keep reading and don't miss any of the great details.

Bike Night Giveaway

Bike Night has been on the third Thursday every month, through the Spring and Summer. Attendees have had the chance to enter for this amazing deal, and this Thursday night a winner will be chosen at Surdyke Yamaha! There are two great bikes for the winner to choose from.

Yamaha Stryker 1300

The look reinterprets classic custom “chopper” styling for an aggressive feel. High-end looks without the high-end price tag. With it's gutsy 1304cc, fuel-injected liquid-cooled V-Twin engine, it churns out the inspired, big-engine feel riders will love. This bike has a radically raked out front end, Stryker has the superbly nimble and lightweight handling that choppers and mid-class competitors can only dream about. The wide 210-series rear tire and chopper-inspired 21-inch front wheel reinforce the muscular styling of the bike. No cheap plastic fenders here—this authentic cruiser has real steel fenders customizers love.

Customized Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

Authentic styling gives you an eyeful of a Softail motorcycle and you see more than some weepy-eyed exercise in nostalgia. Uncluttered. Unaffected by the fad of the moment. With a genuine reason for looking the way it looks. The iconic engine means the air-cooled 45° V-Twin engine is at the heart of every Softail model. Its clean, uncluttered shape fits perfectly in the downtubes of the frame. Twist the throttle and the surge of torque hits you exactly where it counts. The Fat Boy offers handling like you've never seen before. The venerable Softail frame has logged untold millions of miles, and we’ve put every one of them to good use. The result: one of the most fun rides in all of motorcycling.

Bike Auction

This is the 3rd annual on site motorcycle auction we've done at the Lake during Bikefest week! It's going to be a great time with some amazing bikes! Many major brand, pre-owned bikes will be auctioned away to bidders, with NO RESERVE! This family friendly event has free admission, with easy viewing. Pre-View bikes starting Saturday morning at 9 AM, with a beer tent, and food served on site during the auction. Get out to Surdyke Yamaha from 11 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, September 19th, for a roaring good time, great bikes, and even boats and PWC's too!

The Boat Path Less Taken for Labor Day

This Labor Day weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks is going to be full of fun, food, fireworks, and of course boating! Whether you live at the Lake or you are packing up the family for a weekend in the sun - having a boat is the way to go. Of course, with as many boats as there will be out on the water, what do you do if you're looking for a quieter Lake setting? We're glad you asked!

Aquatic Trail Route

The Aquatic Trail is administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources as part of the Lake of the Ozarks State Park. It is nine miles long, and depending on your speed can take around two hours. It runs from Public Beach No. 1 to Grand Glaize Beach. You can start at either end of the trail, and a booklet with a map is available at the park office. The booklet also includes a list of neat places you can find along the trail that are historically related to the Lake.

Aquatic Trail History

Each of the 14 stops are marked with an orange and white buoy, pointing out such things as Lumberman's Logging Chute. This was a gap in the bluff used over a century ago to push the railroad ties down into the Grand Glaize Creek, before it was the Lake of the Ozarks. They were then floated downstream. There are many other stops along the way that will give you a broader idea of the Lake of the Ozarks.

Aquatic Trail Stops

Station A. Lumberman's Logging Chute, described below.
Station B. Limestone & Dolomite fracturing: bedrock cracks or "joints".
Station C. Naturally Solar Heated Bluff: Red Cedars, Lip Fern.
Station D. Nature's Apartment Houses: overhanging rock outcroppings: possibly used as shelter by Indians.
Station E. Example of sediment extending the cove banks.
Station F. Lichens: plant life growing right out of rock.
Station G. Remains of lake reefs developed in ancient seas.
Station H. Cave, typical of the region's "karst" topography, which also includes sinkholes, underground streams, large springs and natural bridges.
Station I. Glade, Missouri's version of a desert.
Station J. Natural chert gravel beach.
Station K. Best growing conditions in the Ozarks.
Station L. "Pigeon Holes"
Station M. "Slumping" and "Creeping".
Station N. Nature's window in the bluff: "Slice Arch".
