ABOUT THE SHOOTOUT
Lake
of the Ozarks Shootout that is being held at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill and
the 33MM-34.5MM, August 23rd – August 27th, 2017 will bring the top racers and
off shore racing power boats from across the country, topping 244 MPH. The
largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest with over 100 racers and 100,000
spectators. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams, and other
charitable organizations!
HISTORY OF THE SHOOTOUT
The
Lake Rescue Shootout started in 1988 as an event in which many local boats
participated simply to establish who had the fastest boat. As the years went by
it became a bigger and bigger event that also helped supplement the Lake Area
Fire Departments water rescue efforts.

If you will be traveling to the events by boat, keep in mind
the navigation restrictions the Missouri State Highway Patrol has released. Below
you will find a link to the press release that outlines the restrictions and no
wake zones for boaters. Save yourself a headache and read through the
restrictions before heading out for the weekend.
With all the activity on the Lake, it’s best to take
precautions and to boat safely to avoid any accidents or problems. Here are a
few boating safety tips to keep in mind while you’re out on the water this weekend:
- You should have a sober drive on board the boat at all times. This person should also know how to properly operate the boat.
- Always be aware of your surroundings. There will be a lot of watercraft on the Lake this weekend, while you may be safe and making smart decisions, other boaters may not be.
- Make sure you do not exceed the number of passengers allowed on your boat.
- Wear your life jacket, especially while participating in any
water sports. Children should always be wearing a life jacket while on a boat.
