Ride for Freedom with Surdyke Yamaha

Surdyke Yamaha is remembering those who sacrificed their lives with the 2nd Annual Boat and PWC Ride for Freedom. On Sunday, September 10, the best watercraft dealer at the Lake of the Ozarks will host a boat and PWC ride from Surdyke’s Port 20 to the Truman Dam and back. Enjoy the beautiful Lake ride and honor those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Ride Details:

This is a free community-wide event, so everyone is welcome to join. There will be a free continental breakfast from 7:30-9:00 am and we will be departing at 9:00 am from Surdyke's Port 20. Along the ride, there will be multiple stops for food and fill-ups. There will be prizes for the best patriotic outfit, the best decorated PWC and a drawing for a Henry Rifle.

Lake Area 1st Responders

If you are a Lake Area 1st Responder (Fire, Police, EMT, National Guard, Etc.) Surdyke Yamaha would like to provide you with a Free Yamaha Personal Watercraft for the day! Surdyke Yamaha in Osage Beach wants as many first responders and military as possible. You will be responsible for your own fuel fill ups and any damage of course. The PWCs seat up to 3 people (2 comfortably) so feel free to bring a friend or significant other!

Donations

The Ride is free, but we are suggesting a $100 donation for those that can afford it. 100% of the donations go to related charities. The Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), the Cadet Thomas Surdyke Memorial Foundation, Supporting Heroes, and The Mission Continues charities. Please click the link below to donate.

About the Charities

The Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)

The national office of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) is located in Camdenton, MO. Dianne Bernhard, Executive Director, is in charge of the day to day operations of this national not for profit with 52 chapters throughout the United States. Since 1984, C.O.P.S. mission has been that of "rebuilding shattered lives" of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. C.O.P.S. helps the survivors by providing emotional support and healing programs the grieving families need to cope with the sudden, often violent death of their fallen officer.

C.O.P.S. serves more than 37,000 survivors throughout the United States. Unfortunately, membership in C.O.P.S. continues to grow as statics show that on average 140-160 law enforcement officers die in the line of duty each year. C.O.P.S. does not charge survivors for any program or service; they have already paid too high a price.

The Cadet Thomas Surdyke Memorial Foundation

To inspire and develop young leaders of character. The Foundation will use donations to provide schools and organizations with inspiring leadership and character development programs, will provide scholarships to various organizations committed to developing young leaders, and will support military character development programs.

Tom’s heroic action on June 24, 2016, fulfilled his personal mission outlined in his West Point entrance essay: “I want to dedicate my life to serve and protect those who are not able to do so for themselves. A career in the military is not only something I desire; it is something I truly feel called to do.”

We see Tom’s courageous story inspiring students to become leaders of character who will transform our nation. Please help us in our mission.

Supporting Heroes

Our mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of public safety heroes who give their lives in the line of duty - by caring for the loved ones they leave behind.

Goals
1. Create a vehicle by which citizens could show their appreciation for the daily service sacrifices of public safety servants.
2. Honor those in the police, fire, and EMS services who make the ultimate sacrifice.
3. Assure those left behind that their loved ones would never be forgotten and that they, the survivors, would always be cared for.

The Mission Continues

The Mission Continues empowers veterans who are adjusting to life at home to find purpose through community impact. We deploy veterans on new missions in their communities so that their actions will inspire future generations to serve. Since our founding, we have always been a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to bringing together veterans and innovative community organizations to create transformational change for communities in need all across the country.

Surdyke Yamaha is proud to host the 2nd Annual Boat and PWC Ride for Freedom and we hope you join us on Sunday, September 10th. At Lake of the Ozark’s best watercraft dealer, we want to make sure you always have a great time when you’re out on the lake. Visit us at Surdyke Yamaha and let us help you get out on the water!
